Our Story

Family Choice Funerals & Cremations was created several years ago by funeral and business professionals who recognized that, while our culture (and families themselves) are changing, the way funeral homes operate has remained virtually the same over the past several generations.  Moreover, general business principles which allow businesses to operate efficiently are often ignored in the funeral industry, causing funeral homes to charge more than necessary.

With a unique model that operates using lean six-sigma principles, we set out to prove that families could be served better and more completely, AND at the same time, save them thousands of dollars when compared to other area funeral homes.

In December of 2009, our first location opened in Roanoke, Virginia, and our second location followed in April, 2010 in Hampton Roads.  The two locations quickly thrived, and have grown to serve hundreds of families each year.  Perhaps the best indication of how much families appreciate our modern and relaxed approach is how often we've served the same families multiple times.  It is an honor that we take very seriously.

Currently, we are expanding the Family Choice brand to multiple markets.  We are grateful to the families who have given us the privilege to walk along side them during their most difficult times, and look forward to many years of providing the high quality of service our families have come to expect.
