Brad is a native of a rural farming community in upstate New York and a graduate of Cincinnatus Central School. While working as a Paramedic and a Coroner’s Assistant in Cortland County, NY, he came in contact with and became friends with several area Funeral Directors and decided he desired a career in Funeral Service. He graduated with honors from Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in Syracuse, NY and became a licensed Funeral Director in 1990.

Brad and family moved to Central Virginia in 1999 and is married to a fellow Funeral Director. With Brad’s many years of experience, he enjoys helping and sharing with families the many affordable options that Family Choice Funerals and Cremations of Roanoke offers and the simple and casual way it is presented.

Brad and his wife, Cheryl have four grown sons and two beautiful grandchildren. Brad enjoys camping and the amateur radio hobby in his spare time.

Victoria Bryant, was born and raised locally, here in Roanoke, Virginia. She is a full time mother with plans to one day obtain a degree in the Medical Assisting field. Victoria began working as a Funeral assistant at Family Choice in December of 2014.

Victoria called on Family Choice Funerals and Cremations to make arrangements for her late father in 2013, never thinking she would one day become part of the Family Choice family.

Her first had experience being on the receiving end of funeral services adds an extra element of empathy and understanding when working with families. She is a valued employee who can testify to the high level of care and excellence Family Choice strives to provide each family we service.

Joshua joined the Family Choice staff in February, 2015, through his wife's best friend, Rachel Preston. He assists the funeral director in transporting the deceased, as well as performing facility maintenance tasks around the funeral home.

Joshua grew up in Hillsville, the son of two high school teachers. His service in the U.S. Army gave him the chance to live in a variety of scenic locations, including Hawaii, upstate New York, Williamsburg, Bosnia, and Iraq. Joshua and his wife of five years, Stephanie, have a toy poodle named Daisy Mae.

Growing up in a military family, Rachel has traveled and lived both overseas and in the states.

Calling Blacksburg, Virginia her hometown, Rachel attended both Mary Baldwin College and Radford University. After graduating with a Bachelors of Social Work in 2005, Rachel, moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where she began her professional career working in the fields of Social Work and Mental Health. Rachel, is a skilled advocate and positive support for families and individuals experiencing grief and loss. Rachel began working as a funeral assistant at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations in December of 2013. From her first day working with us, it was apparent that she is a team player and has a genuine heart for working in funeral services.

Along with providing support and assistance to families in need, Rachel, also finds passion and purpose in providing cosmetic services here at Family Choice.

Steve is a native of Reisterstown, MD and began his career in funeral service in 1991. He holds an Associate's Degree in Mortuary Science from Catonsville Community College in Baltimore, MD and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Ashford University in Clinton, IA.

Steve enjoys the fact that, in funeral service, no two days are alike. He also appreciates the position of being able to help families through such difficult times, where their ability to help themselves is limited. Having been the first Lead Director of the Virginia Beach location, he is now responsible for both the Virginia Beach and Roanoke locations, as well as the expansion of the Family Choice brand into new markets.

Steve and his wife, Kristi, have thirteen children and two grandsons, and live in Virginia Beach. They are members of Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk.
