Otto McLean "Layne" Stroud, III passed away on October 11, 2017 surrounded by family.

Layne enjoyed playing his harmonica, loved watching Redskins football and loved taking sunset pictures on Chick's beach with his fiance Denise by his side. Most of all Layne enjoyed family gatherings..Layne was a unique man who has given us great memories and many amazing stories. He will never be forgotten,

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Otto McLean Stroud,Sr, his mother, Virginia"Jenny" Stroud. Also by step-brother, Jerry "Buck" Pope.

Layne is survived by his Grandmother, Margaret L Stroud his father, Mac Stroud and wife Violet , brother, Adam D. Stroud and his wife Jenny, step-brother, Shea Pope. Niece, Jackie Stroud, Aunt Anne Mogel and husband Ron, Uncles William D. Stroud and Mary, Douglas A. Stroud and his wife Bridget and his loving and caring fiance Denise Marulli, as well as cousins, Jon Stroud, Scott, Matt and Ryan Mogel, Jason, Sean and Kelsey (Moots) Stroud. Sister in Law Andrea and her children Drew, Leah and Jack Pope, Minneapolis , MN, Tommy and his wife Sue Lovett, John Lovett and Doris Lovett, Tallahassee, FL.
A celebration of Layne's life with family and close friends will be held at 2PM on Saturday, October 21st on chick's beach (Park at Froggies on Shore Dr.) At the families request please dress casual and please bring a beach chair.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Navy SEAL Foundation.
