Charlene Ann (Clemens) Fought, 59, passed away on Friday, August 4th, 2017 in Virginia Beach. Charlene was born on January 1st, 1958. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sarah Clemens. Charlene was pre-deceased by her husband Greg Fought, sister Sandra Ellis, sister in law Sheryl Clemens and nephew John Chase Ellis.
After graduating from Princess Ann High School in 1975, Charlene made the Civil Service her life's career. Throughout her 39 years of service at numerous commands in the Tidewater area and in Mobile, Alabama, she retired from her last assignment at the Coast Guard Training Station in Yorktown, VA.
Charlene had a deep love for family (and the Cowboys) and always put family before herself. Her 9 nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart which was evident in the endless love she showed them and the many fun activities they shared together. She is survived by nieces and nephews Sarah Clemens, Christopher Clemens, Amanda (Ellis) Zimmerman, Lauren White, Russell White, J.J. Clemens, Emily White and Jordan Clemens.
Charlene is also survived by siblings, Larry Clemens, Denise (Clemens) White and husband Russ, Mark Clemens and wife Wendy and Jeff Clemens and wife Jeannie. She also leaves behind Aunt Barbara Mc Gough, Brother in law John Ellis and a host of extended family members and friends.
Per Charlene's request, during a private gathering of her family, her ashes will be spread in the ocean to join her husband Greg. Although there will be no Memorial Service for Charlene, we know that she touched many people's lives over the years. In memory of her........ we ask you to take a moment and remember a time you may have shared with her, and allow that memory to make you smile because now she flies with pink butterflies..............
