Obituary for Lora Lee Biron

Lora Lee  Biron
Lora Lee Biron, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Lora was born November 22nd, 1940 to the late Earl and Mary Smith in Soddy, Tennessee. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Lora was a member of N.O.W. in Northern Virginia and would often attend meetings and rallies in support of Women’s rights. She was a long-time member of Church of the Holy Apostles and was active until the passing of her husband. She enjoyed working with numbers and was a Tax Accountant for several years. She loved to travel and be with her family and friends. Lora will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was most often and affectionately known as "Grandma", "Nana" or "GiGi". She will be deeply missed.

Lora is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Biron; both parents; daughter, Dr. Denise Biron; brothers: Raymond and William Smith and a sister, Mary Penry.

Left to cherish her memory are: two daughters, Donna Strickland and husband Tony from Little Rock, AR, and Drema Biron from Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Wilma Gladden from Nags Head, NC; four grandsons: Tony “TJ” Strickland Jr. and wife Brandi, Johnny Strickland and wife Jackie, Diego Vazquez and wife Lindsey, Logan O’Neal; three granddaughters: Michelle Massey, Stephanie Barnes, Amber Biron and fiance Chris Masterson; nine great-grandchildren: Tyler Sherrod, Zachery Sherrod, Morgan Strickland, Cole Strickland, Lenora Strickland, Carson Barnes, Lora Lee Strickland, William Vazquez, Anna Vazquez; three sisters-in- law: Phyllis Smith, Louise Broniecki, Thelma Biron; brothers-in-law, Dr. George Biron and Robert Penry and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at Church of the Holy Apostles. 1593 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach, VA 23453. Please share your condolences with the family at www.FamilyChoiceFunerals.com
