Melvin Walker, 80, passed away on June 4th, 2018 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Melvin was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Melvin was born on November 4th, 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

He lived his adult life in the Tidewater area and made many friends who were friends for life! His love of family extended to a number of people from the Telephone Pioneers, to his church life, to the neighborhood. He was a tower of strength to more people than can be named here.

Melvin is also survived by 43 great-nieces and great-nephews all of whom showered him with love and gave him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Virginia Walker; six siblings: Roscoe, Odell, Juanita, Marvin, Kenny and Bernie; his first wife, Imogene Walker; and his second wife, Phyllis Walker.
