Charles Arthur Cheeseman Sr., 84, passed away on Monday, April 2nd, 2018 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on February 19th, 1934 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of Arthur and Elsie Cheeseman and husband of Edna Cheeseman (Spencer). Charles retired from the US Navy as a radioman. After retiring from the military, Charles was an auto repairman for many years. He then taught himself how to repair computers. The computers that he fixed were then donated to the Edmarc Hospice for Children.
Charles had love for gardening and took pride in growing Japanese maples and vegetables. When not attending his gardens, he could be found building model railroads, planes, or woodworking. Charles loved to listen to the 40's era music, and would listen to artists such as Bing Crosby and Tommy Dorsey. His greatest love however, was his wife of 62 years, Edna.
Charles is survived by his wife, Edna Cheeseman (Spencer); his son Charles A. Cheeseman, Jr.; his daughter Wanda McKenzie; 2 granddaughters; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A rendering of military honors to Charles will be held on Monday, April 9th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens located at 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502.
