Dr. Deborah L. Chirtea, 53, passed away on Saturday, November 4th, 2017 in Virginia Beach, VA surrounded by her loving family. Deb was born on May 31st, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland to John and Cindy Chirtea. Deb was a Doctor for Sentara Podiatry Specialist and she practiced medicine for twenty-three years in Virginia Beach. She entered college at the age of sixteen and was a graduate of Guilford College in 1985, Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in 1990, Northern Virginia Podiatry Residency in 1993, Plastic Surgical Apprenticeship from 1992-1993 and Fellowship Research in 1993. During her college years, she studied abroad in Kenya. She was a member of American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Virginia Podiatric Medical Association, Scientific Chair for many years, Hampton Roads Division of the VPMA, WAVY 10 “expert on your side”, EVMS Faculty Member, Assistant Director EVMS Podiatric Residency Program, Director of Podiatric rotation for EVMS Family Medicine Program, Member of Sentara Medical Group, Medical Journal Club and a Case Study Expert for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was part of Destination Imagination for many years. She was a Global Champion Team Manager, judge and a Challenge Master with DI. She and her husband loved to travel, traveling to more than twenty countries.
Deb will be lovingly remembered by her husband of twenty-four years, Todd Perry and her four children, Madison, Cayenne, Tucker, and Dakota. Deb will also be fondly remembered by her parents, John and Cindy, her sister, Heather Chirtea, and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to have known her.
