Obituary for Karen Keith Markham

Karen Keith Markham passed away peacefully on October 4, 2017. Karen was born on October 12, 1937 in Antigo, WI, the daughter of Marshall W. (Capt., USN-Ret) and Helen R. Keith. Karen graduated from high school in Minneapolis, MN and attended the University of Wisconsin.

Karen is survived by her husband of 58 years, John F. Markham (COL, USA-Ret). Karen and John met, fell in love, and were married in Madison, Wis. where John was an ROTC student at the University of Wisconsin. As an Army wife, Karen accompanied John to Hawaii, England, Lexington, KY, Washington, DC and Ft. Bragg, NC. Their marriage brought five wonderful children into this world: John R. Markham, Keith W. Markham, Ann M. Carille, Mary D. Markham, and Jennifer M. Brock. There are 15 wonderful grandchildren.

Karen and John have been members of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church for over 23 years where Karen was the leader of the Altar Guild for many years.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John’s church on October 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Assn would be appreciated.
