Phillip Wayne Lucas, 70, went to be with His Lord and Savior on Monday, August 7th, 2017 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Phillip was born on October 1st, 1946 in Roanoke, Virginia to Charles and Virginia Lucas. Phillip was a thirty year veteran of the United States Marines Corps, and served as an Embarkation and Logistics Officer. He proudly served in Vietnam and the Gulf War, retiring at the rank of Major.
Phillip was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church and he loved God, family, country and the Corps.
He treasured his grandchildren and was an avid Redskins fan.
Left to cherish his memory are Sheila Lucas, Wife; Matthew Lucas, Son; Nicola Ragland, Daughter; Tammy Donnelly, Daughter; Charlene Long and Golda Robinson, Sisters; Russell Harr, Brother, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Catherine Lucas, and his brothers, Guy and Charles Dean Lucas.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 10th, 2017 at 11:00 am at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road Suffolk, Virginia 23434.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Brookdale Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care for their loving and compassionate care during the last years of Phillip’s life.
