Anita Louise Murdach, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 in Virginia Beach surrounded by her loving family, after a 4 year battle with ovarian cancer. Anita was born on August 25th, 1939 in Browns Valley, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Matthew and Lillian Wolters and wife of the late Carson Murdach. Anita was a military wife for all of her adult life, traveling in her 20s and 30s along with her four sons to several countries, including Japan, Cyprus, Turkey, Scotland, Lebanon, Ireland, and Germany. She settled in Virginia Beach and worked at Wendy's for over 27 years as a general manager, opening 4 stores in the Virginia Beach area where she was affectionately called MOM by her employees. In her spare time, she loved camping with her late husband Carson traveling up and down the east coast in their camper. She also loved visiting the Outer Banks with her family, and gardening. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially around the holidays. As the matriarch of the family, she will be forever missed and memories will be forever treasured by those who love her. Anita was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and volunteered at St. John the Apostle Catholic School where two of her grandchildren attended. She was a very giving and selfless soul.

She is survived by her brothers Ron Wolters, Don Wolters and William Wolters, sons Rick (wife Cindy) Simmons, Kevin (wife Cheryl) Simmons, Bill (wife Beth) Simmons, Ken (wife Catherine) Simmons, her grandchildren Nicholas Simmons, Ricky Kresinske, Lauren Simmons, Samantha Simmons and Matthew Simmons.
A Funeral Mass and celebration of Anita’s life will be held on Monday, August 14th, 2017 at 10:00am at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church 1968 Sandbridge Rd Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
