Obituary for Ernestine Storm Baise

Ernestine Storm Baise
Ernestine Storm Baise joined the Church Triumphant on May 27, 2017 at the age of 92. She married the love of her life, Emmett Baise, in her hometown of McPherson, Kansas in 1946. The marriage lasted for 67 years until the passing of her husband in 2013.

She is survived by her son Daniel Baise and his wife Katherine who took much time caring for her every need; two grandsons, Matthew Baise and his wife Jen of Alexandria, VA and Andrew Baise of Lakeland, FL; two granddaughters, Jennifer Coleman and her husband David of Baltimore and Amanda Baise of Virginia Beach; and one great granddaughter, Logan Aronstein, who was very precious to her.

She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Virginia Huseman of Norfolk and Betty Storm of Bella Vista, AR; three nieces, Carla Branning of Virginia Beach, Nancy Huff of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Vicki Beebe of Bloomington, MN. She is predeceased by her eldest son, Rev. Richard Baise. Her family was her pride and joy and the time spent with them was always her happiest.

She was especially appreciative of neighbors Penny McAllister and Francis Edmonds who loved and assisted her and her husband for many years.

Ernestine retired as Chief Deputy Clerk of the Traffic Division of Norfolk General District Court in 1979. She volunteered with the Bayside Branch of Virginia Beach Public Library and was the oldest active member of Knox Presbyterian Church at the time of her death. She was ordained as a church elder at the age of 89.

Ernestine loved Jesus and his church Knox Presbyterian in Norfolk. A memorial service will be conducted at Knox at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Knox Presbyterian Memorial Fund or to a charity of your choice.
