Coralie Rita Fagan, 66, unexpectedly passed away in a scooter accident on Monday, April 24th, 2017 in Portsmouth.
Coralie was born on January 31st, 1951 in New Orleans, she was the daughter of Charles and Edith Fagan, and the sister to four brothers; Micheal, Charles, Peter, and James, and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Coralie was the mother to; Renol Joseph Malbrough III, now deceased, and Jeff and Carolann Malbrough, and grandmother to Miles and Camilla, whom she loved dearly.
Coralie grew up and spent a majority of her life in New Orleans. She had many friends and family there. She loved to celebrate Mardi Gras and Saints football games. Coralie was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, working with munitions as a Staff Seargent. She came to Virginia as a refugee of Hurricane Katrina and has been living here since.
Coralie found the love and friendship she needed in her local church community, becoming a member of Cradock Presbyterian, in Portsmouth. A majority of her time was spent volunteering at both Port Norfolk Church and Cradock Presbyterian for over ten years. It is there she felt a peace in helping others in need. Her Pastor and friends both comment on her dedication and great spirit.
She was also a valued member of the Red Hat Society, attending many functions and trips with her dear friends. She was their shutterbug, always handy with the camera. Her many photos can be viewed on her facebook page.
Coralie was known by many as a charismatic person with a flair for eccentricity. She had a contagious smile and an infectious laugh. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Cradock Presbyterian Church. She requested a Mardi Gras/Red Hat theme so wear your costume if you have one.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Port Norfolk Church or Cradock Presbyterian, both in Portsmouth, VA.
She was loved by many and will be missed by many more.
