Obituary for Charles Devereux Love

Charles Devereux Love
If we did not go to sleep at night, we’d never awaken to see the light or meet the dawn by some quite lake with the joy of watching a new day break. And death too is a time of sleeping, for those who are done are in God’s keeping, There is a sunrise for each soul, for life – not death – is God’s promised goal. So trust God’s promise and doubt him never, for only through death can we live forever!

On Friday, February 15, 1935, after the sun rose, a baby boy was born to Graham and Sophia Love, named Charles Devroux Love. He grew up in a Christian home on a farm, after 18 years on the farm helping his father and grandfather he decided to explore, on a journey to Yorktown Ohio.

After being there for a while he had meet a host of over relatives and made a host of friends, with in those friends he meet his wife and married. Within that marriage they had three children, twin girls and a boy.
In his busy schedule he always made time to visit his parents, as well as his brothers and sisters and other relatives.

During his time in Ohio, Charles served in the Army Reserves.

In 1999 his health began to fail him. In 2015 Charles moved back to North Carolina, he resided with this brother Alfred Love. In June of 2016 he came to Virginia to visit his two sisters, within two weeks he decided he wanted to stay. Charles resided with his sister Patricia Corley, in Virginia Beach, VA. He spend his last days there happy, at peace and well loved.

On September 9, 2016 his name was called by his Heavenly Father, he was surrounded by his sister and family.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children Clarice, Cleon, and Tony. His brothers Alfred and Marcellous. Four sisters Hazel, Patricia, Yvonne, and Roberta, several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.

Charles was well loved by his family, he will truly be missed more than words can express.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 16th, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Campostella Heights SDA Church at 1006 Oakwood St Norfolk, Virginia 23523.
